Residents of CBD area face huge parking probelems these days. Especially during office hours, there is literally no parking and people block others cars in order to get their work done. The place gets highly chaotic and one has to go around 4 to 5 times in order to find a parking. The situation is worsening day by day and if a possible solution is not implemented, the parking issue will continue to haunt residents and visitors!!

Salalah Trip
Made a four day tour to Salalah recently, it was fabulous as always. I went with my family and we visited a lot of places there. Wadi Darbat, Ayn Razat, Ayn Shahlout, Tomb of Nabi Ayoob (pbuh) and others but this was the first time we visited Samharam, a historical site in Salalah, it was great!
Salalah's experience is unforgettable everytime!

I am back!
Dear Readers,
I havent been able to write anything in the past 2-3 months on this blog because of a my busy busy schedule but now I am back and will hopefully write regularly....
I would like to share a couple of things with my readers,
one is that the second issue of the Bayan Post is out and has been highly acclaimed among readers. This has encouraged us to go ahead with our newspaper and we will be taking it out on a bi- monthly basis. Hopeful for good reviews!
Second, we have started the summer semesterat college and got a couple of new part-time faculty members who are very qualified and experienced. Hope to learn from their experience. Moreover, our college is offering two evening courses namely- conversational english and photography. For this, the college has been getting a huge response especially from various government organisations!

Blood Donation at Bayan College
Blood Donation campaign was recently organised at Bayan College, as a part of the campaign, Health workers from the Ministry of Health, Oman came to college encouraging students to donate blood. Around 40 students from the college came forward for the noble cause and helped collect 30 bottles of blood.
Cheers to all of those students who donated and also to those who encouraged their friends to donate!
In the future, we expect a bigger response to such a noble act.

Bayan Newsletter!
Finally, we have the first edition of Bayan College newsletter, 'Bayan Post' coming up very soon. We have been planning on it since long but now we have actually formed a team and are in the process of assigning duties to each one in the team. We are immensely happy at this milestone and very soon the first edition should be out. Thanks to the efforts and backup from Dr. Fairuz, the new Head of Media Studies department at Bayan College.
For the newsletter, even though we are six currently, we may take a couple of more students (only those deeply interested). Others, who are willing to make contributions are also welcome....!

Love the weather in Muscat!
The weather is Muscat has been great since December, its nice and cold at nights and even during the days. It even rains in different parts of Oman, two weeks back it even rained in Muscat! I am loving the weather...at least we have some sort of relief from the usual hot n humid weather of Oman! But a bigger problem is the super shiny SUN which shines endlessly here...we need a little shade!
Finals....!
Hey everyone.....! As most of you must be aware that this week in our college is the final week of classes for fall semester and the finals are starting from 16th January and would go on till the 29th jan!! A lot of students are worried about exams and have started to prepare from before itself but the others are a little too complacent and they will not even study at the last moment! But I guess, all of us should start preparing from now, if we want some good grades! Have you all started studying? I wonder what subjects are giving a real hard time to students this semester!! Post it on....!

Salalah: Oman's Paradise
Salalah, that lies in the South of Oman among the Dhofari mountains is like any other place in Oman, hot, humid, with gigantic mountains and picturesque beaches but the magic and heavenly charm of Salalah blooms during the Khareef season ie. from mid July to mid september. The place changes and turns itself into a dreamland with lush green mountains, verdant valleys, enchanting rains and wonderful views. Salalah is famous far and wide for its Khareef charm but till now many people are untouched by Salalah's magic! I have some images which I will share with you all but a bit later!

Asian Beach Games!!
The Second Asian Beach Games were held in Oman from 8-16th Decmber, It was the first time Oman hosted an event of this type, the Games were amazing and organised very well....it was a huge affair and Oman proved themselves by carrying them out very smoothly. Also, Oman has realised its deep potential of organising bigger events of this sort! Atheles from 45 different countries came to Oman and showcased their skills at 14 different sports. Different media persons came from various countries to cover this massive event. Everyone who came praised the facilitles here and the Omani hospitality, which was as wonderful as ever!
Below, I would like some views from people who were a part of it either from the media or game officials or volunteers or even the spectators, just tell us how did you find the Games??

Cross-Cultural Communication
Recently in college, six of our students had a cross cultural communication online with students of the Interantional Relations class in American University Washinton D.C. I was heading this project and spoke to the students of both the sides, all of them were really happy that they got a chance to take part in a discussion of this sort which helped them understand each other! Our students found out some interesting facts about the American student life and culture and also cleared stereotypes that American students had about the Arab world and vice versa!....lets see what experience can the students share with us!
